AMSUtm (Airway Medical Suction Unit) has been developed to TRL5 via an Innovate UK Grant.
It is intended for use by trained clinicians for the purpose of emergency airway clearance and can be used either in the field, during transportation or a hospital.
AMSU provides instantaneous vacuum to -60Kpa (ISO 10079-1-2022); the same as incumbent portable electric/battery devices, without requiring a reliable source of electricity.
It is 90% smaller, lighter and cheaper, but just as effective.
AMSU has been injection-moulded using renewably sourced polymers and tested on Lifecast(™) mannequins.
